BEATRICE HAVERICH

I am an internationally published fine art author photographer and photography lecturer. (UAL Foundation Diploma Photography)

My passion is landscape photography using medium format film and digital photography resulting in true depictions of scenes reflecting my emotional response that I felt when I took the image.  My landscapes are usually devoid of people allowing the viewer to enter the space. 

My work extends from deserts of California as Death Valley, to waterfalls at Yosemite, to a study of trees for my Masters Degree resulting in an internationally published book called 'The Whisper of a Million Leaves'

(Publisher Damiani Editore), conveying the tenacity of trees. The fine art photography book was launched with an exhibition in London at the Spitz Gallery in October 2006, opened by Jon Snow, the environmental campaigner and newscaster for Channel 4. Further projects include an atmospheric night time study of Barcelona, Las Vegas and Brighton, conveying the contrast between these cities as night falls. In 2006 I went to Cuba and Havana portraying this extraordinary country on the cusp of change. 

Fascinated by the early 20th Century design period of Art Deco, my current book project is depicting Lidos and Early Century baths across Europe and America. This series was published in 'The British Journal of Photography' as part of their 'Project Assistance Awards' selection, and I received a Honourable Mention Award for my 'No Diving' swimming pool series at the Los Angeles based 'International Photography Awards'.

Combining my photography and tutoring skills, in 2011, I was commissioned by publisher A&C Black; Bloomsbury Group, to produce a photography skills book for teenagers the ‘Instant Expert Photo Skills’ this was published worldwide.

Most recently I have been to Venice, photographing this strikingly beautiful city with my medium format camera, capturing scenes early morning or at night, achieving golden atmospheric images without the tourists...
